West Bengal SIR Voter List 2025 – Easy Way to Check and Fix Missing Names

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 is now happening in West Bengal. It is an important campaign run by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to check and correct the voter list before the 2026 Assembly Elections.

Many people have noticed that their names or their family members’ names are missing from the voter list.
If this happens to you, don’t worry – there are easy steps to fix it before the final list is ready.

Step 1: Check if Your Name Is Really Missing

Sometimes names look missing because of a small spelling mistake or typing error.
So, check carefully before you file a complaint.

How to check:

  1. Visit the official website: ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in
  2. Click on “Search in Electoral Roll.”
  3. Search by your EPIC number, or enter your Name + Father’s Name + District.
  4. Try spelling variations, especially for Bengali names.
  5. If you still can’t find your name, it may have been deleted or not added yet.

Step 2: Look for Your Name in the 2002 Voter List

For SIR 2025, the ECI is using the 2002 voter list to verify old records. If your name or your family’s name was there, it will help you get added again more easily.

To check the 2002 list:

  1. Go to ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in
  2. Click on “SIR 2002 Electoral Roll.”
  3. Choose your district, constituency, and polling station.
  4. Download the PDF and search for your name.
If you find it, note down the serial number and house number. This will help your Booth Level Officer (BLO) confirm your details.

Step 3: Meet Your Booth Level Officer (BLO)

Your BLO is the main person who helps with voter list corrections.
They are visiting homes from 4 November 2025 to 8 January 2026 as part of SIR 2025.

When your BLO visits:

  • Tell them your name is missing.
  • Give your old EPIC number or details from the 2002 list.
  • Show ID and address proof (like Aadhaar, Ration Card, or Birth Certificate).
  • Fill the Enumeration Form they provide.

If your BLO already visited your area, you can go to the Designated Revision Centre (DRC) nearby to submit your details.

Step 4: Apply for Inclusion with Form 6

If your name is still not added, you must fill Form 6, which is used for new voter registration.

Two ways to apply:

Offline:

  • Get Form 6 from your BLO or local election office.
  • Fill in your personal details.
  • Attach photocopies of your ID and address proof.
  • Submit it to your BLO or DRC.

Online:

  • Visit voters.eci.gov.in
  • Click “Apply for Voter ID” → Form 6.
  • Upload the scanned documents.
  • Save the reference number to track your application.

Step 5: Track Your Application

After you apply, officials will verify your information.
You can check the status of your Form 6:

  1. Go to voters.eci.gov.in
  2. Click “Track Application Status.”
  3. Enter your reference ID.

If approved, your name will appear in the Draft Electoral Roll (9 December 2025) or the Final Roll (7 February 2026).

Step 6: For Objections or Mistakes

If you find errors in your details or someone else’s wrong entry, you can file:

  • Form 7 – To remove a wrong name.
  • Form 8 – To correct your details.
  • Form 8A – To change your address within the same constituency.

You can submit these forms online or at your local election office between 9 December 2025 and 8 January 2026.

Useful Tips

  • Keep photocopies of all documents you submit.
  • Use the same spelling for your name everywhere.
  • Don’t wait till the last date – apply early.
  • If you receive a notice from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), reply quickly with the needed papers.
